May 18 Meeting -
Habitat Gardens
Please join us: 6:30 pm at 602 N. Ennis Street, Fuquay Varina

With continued urbanization and ever-decreasing acres of farm fields and woodland, the
way we manage our residential landscapes is increasingly important to the survival of
pollinators, songbirds, and other wildlife. Fortunately, with the right management practices and
an emphasis on native plants, even a tiny backyard can become a haven for a variety of species.
Using examples from her own and clients' gardens, our speaker, Dale Batchelor, will share basic strategies and resources for creating landscapes that support biodiversity while meeting the needs of the humans who inhabit them. Dale Batchelor, the founder of Gardener by Nature LLC,  is a regular contributor to Triangle Gardener Magazine.  She offers workshops at her home, Swiftbrook Gardens, a Native Plant Habitat created over the past 30 years by she and her husband, John Thomas. Swiftbrook is recognized by the N.C. Native Plant Society and is a certified National Wildlife Federation Backyard Habitat.
