She brought booklets to give us with the herbs she highlighted in her slide presentation. There are so many herbs to talk about but Ginny highlighted 16-plus favorites grown in North Carolina and told us about their growth habits, sun and soil needs, etc. It was interesting to see different cultivars of herbs from the ones most often grown: prostrate juniper, for instance, and different varieties of basil and mint. Ginny also mentioned Artemesia, which is herb of the year for 2014.
Ginny was a charming, genial presenter. Having been President of District 10 of the Garden Club of North Carolina, she said she enjoyed being with us--she likes getting out to different garden club meetings to learn what they are doing.
